Recap of 2025 CRB Gala

Together we raised over $600K for Cristo Rey Brooklyn High School!

August 1, 2025

To all of you who attended, contributed and spread the word - we couldn't have accomplished this without your generosity and support. From all of us at CRB and our extended and future community, thank you!

We celebrated our honorees Robert B. Catell, Sr. Elizabeth Calfapietra R.S.M. and Hudson Insurance Group all of whom have demonstrated remarkable devotion and commitment to enhancing opportunities for our students. Testament to the impact of their service, alumni speaker, Amayah Thomas, Class of 2024 shared, “CRB was more than a school—it was a training ground for life. It gave me a community of teachers and mentors who saw something in me before I even saw it in myself.” Amayah is now attending St. John's University and scheduled to graduate with a Pharm.D (Doctor of Pharmacy) in 2030.

The gala also marked the launch of the Robert B. Catell Scholars Program, which outlines an ambitious goal to raise $5M for student scholarships by 2030. At the evening’s paddle raise, over $170,000 was donated to that effort—which will be generously matched!! Announcing the launch, President Michael Motyl quoted Cristo Rey founder Fr. John Foley SJ, “may our hope be so outrageously bold that people will laugh at us if they knew what we hoped for!”

The gala's success was made possible by our Host Committee, Board of Trustees, honorees, sponsors, staff and extended community. Thank you for keeping us bold.

¡Viva Cristo Rey!
