Applications for the 2026-2027

Academic School Year 

At Cristo Rey Brooklyn, we are committed to providing exceptional opportunities for our students. With only 75 spots available in our freshman class, we encourage you to submit your application by our priority deadline of December 19th. Admission decisions will be released on January 21st.
 

Each of the 75 incoming freshmen will receive a near-complete scholarship through our unique Corporate Work Study program, ensuring access to a high-quality education and invaluable work experience. Applications for the 2026-2027 school year are now open!

We invite prospective families to begin the application process today and take the first step toward joining the Cristo Rey Brooklyn community. Apply by the priority deadline! Families accepted during this round will receive a discount on their child’s registration fee.

Our Ideal Students Meets the

Following Criteria

Age

Students applying for 9th grade must be current 8th graders who will be 14 years old by December 2026.

Financial Need

Cristo Rey Brooklyn High School exclusively serves students who desire a college prep education but could not otherwise afford to attend a private high school. Demonstrated financial need is a requirement for admission and is evaluated on a case-by-case basis through the financial aid process. 

Academics

Students are expected to have above average grades, attendance, and demonstrate willingness to work hard to meet the high academic expectations and the work obligations of the school.

Employability 

Students must possess the  maturity and work ethic needed to work effectively with adults in an office environment.  All students must be authorized to work in the United States by the first day of the work-study program.

Step 1

Gather Your Documents

Before starting your online application, please ensure you have the following documents to complete your application.

- Applicant’s birth certificate


- 7th or 8th grade final report card


-Most Recent 8th report card (9th grade report card for Sophomore Transfer)

- Most recent standardized test scores (I-Ready diagnostics, TACHS, or state tests) 

- 2 email addresses for recommendation reference

Apply for Financial Aid

As part of the application process, all families who are applying to Cristo Rey Brooklyn are required to complete the FACTS application for financial aid. This step allows us to review your household income and determine your tuition amount. Once the financial aid application is reviewed, you will receive a tuition letter with your family’s annual contribution.

All prospective families must create an account and log in through our PowerSchool portal to begin the application. Once your application has been submitted, our Admissions Team will review the materials and reach out if any additional information is required.

Recommendation

Emails

As part of the online application, families are required to provide two recommendation emails:

  • Academic Recommendation: The email of your child’s current Math or English teacher

  • Character Recommendation: The email of a non-family member who can speak to your child’s character (for example, a coach, mentor, or community leader)

Families must contact their chosen recommenders in advance to confirm their willingness, then enter each recommender’s email address directly into the online application form

 

References will receive separate emails with instructions on how to complete and submit the recommendation once the application is submitted

Step 5

Interview & Assessment 

Once all required documents are submitted, the Admissions Office will decide if the applicant will be invited for an interview and assessment. 

All interviews are held in person at Cristo Rey Brooklyn. It will last approximately 45 minutes and will be followed by a brief student assessment for Corporate Work Study.

Accepted Students

  • All students accepted to Cristo Rey Brooklyn High School will receive an official acceptance letter, a personalized financial aid award, and an invitation to attend one of our New Student Orientation sessions in June.

  • To ensure that all incoming students are fully prepared to enter the workforce, Cristo Rey Brooklyn High School requires participation in our Summer Training Program (STP). This comprehensive three-week orientation will take place from July 6-24, 2026.

Transfer Students

Cristo Rey Brooklyn accepts a limited number of 10th grade transfer students at the beginning of each academic school year. Students who are interested must follow the application process and meet all requirements. Cristo Rey Brooklyn does not accept mid-year transfers.
