Academic School Year
At Cristo Rey Brooklyn, we are committed to providing exceptional opportunities for our students. With only 75 spots available in our freshman class, we encourage you to submit your application by our priority deadline of December 18th. Priority Admission decisions will be released on January 15th.
Each of the 75 incoming freshmen will receive a near-complete scholarship through our unique Corporate Work Study program, ensuring access to a high-quality education and invaluable work experience. Our Ideal Students Meets the
Following Criteria
Age
Students applying for 9th grade must be current 8th graders who will be 14 years old by the beginning of September 2027.
Financial Need
Cristo Rey Brooklyn High School exclusively serves students who desire a college prep education but could not otherwise afford to attend a private high school. Demonstrated financial need is a requirement for admission and is evaluated on a case-by-case basis through the financial aid process.

Academics
Students are expected to have above average grades, attendance, and demonstrate willingness to work hard to meet the high academic expectations and the work obligations of the school.
Employability
Students must possess the maturity and work ethic needed to work effectively with adults in an office environment. All students must be authorized to work in the United States by the first day of the work-study program.

Step 1
Gather Your Documents
Before starting your online application, please have the following information and documents ready.

- Applicant’s birth certificate
- 7th or 8th grade final report card
- Most recent 8th-grade report card (9th-grade report card for Sophomore Transfer)

- Most recent standardized test scores (I-Ready, TACHS, or State Exam, etc.)
​
- Email addresses for two recommenders
​
- Most Recent W-2 form or other applicable parent/guardian tax document for financial
eligibility review​

create an account through our PowerSchool Enrollment portal to begin the application.
Once the application is submitted, the Admissions Team will review the materials and reach out if any additional information is needed.

Recommendation
Emails
As part of the online application, families are required to provide two recommendation emails:

Academic Recommendation: A current Math or English teacher

Character Recommendation: A non-family member who can speak to the student's character, such as a coach, mentor, counselor, or community leader

Families must contact their recommenders in advance to confirm their willingness to participate.
Once the application is submitted, each recommender will receive a separate email with instructions on how to complete and submit the recommendation.

Apply for Financial Aid
As part of the application process, all families applying to Cristo Rey Brooklyn are required to complete our FACTS Financial Aid Application.

This allows us to review your household income and determine financial eligibility.
​
For students who are accepted, the information provided through FACTS will also be used to determine your family's annual tuition contribution.

Interview & Assessment
Once all required application materials have been submitted, the Admissions Office will review the student's file and determine whether they will be invited to participate in an interview and assessment.
​
Interviews are held in person at Cristo Rey Brooklyn and last approximately 45 minutes.
​
Following the interview, students will complete a brief assessment related to the Corporate Work Study Program.

Accepted Students

All students accepted to Cristo Rey Brooklyn High School will receive an official acceptance letter, a personalized financial aid award, and an invitation to attend one of our New Student Orientation sessions in June.

To ensure that all incoming students are fully prepared to enter the workforce, Cristo Rey Brooklyn High School requires participation in a Mandatory Summer Orientation. This comprehensive four-week orientation will be held in the month of July.
Transfer Students
Cristo Rey Brooklyn accepts a limited number of 10th grade transfer students at the beginning of each academic school year. Students who are interested must follow the application process and meet all requirements. Cristo Rey Brooklyn does not accept mid-year transfers.
