Cross Country and Track & Field Head Coach Job Description 2021-22

 

About:  Cristo Rey Brooklyn is a small, Catholic, college prep high school that competes in the CHSAA.

Cross Country:  August 23 - October 30 

Indoor:  November 1 - February 26

Outdoor:  March 1 - May 28 

Head Coach Compensation:  $5,400 for all three seasons or $1,800 per season (negotiable)

Assistant Coach Compensation:  $2,400 for all three seasons or $800 per season (negotiable)

Certifications

 

Coaching Responsibilities & Expectations

  • Deliver high quality coaching, meeting with the team a minimum of 4 times per week.

  • Demonstrate patience and the ability to differentiate training so that a diverse range of athletes can be appropriately challenged. 

  • Communicate with athletes and parents through WhatsApp and/ or email.

  • Distribute and collect all uniforms.

  • Collaborate with athletic director to schedule meets as appropriate.  

  • Attend coaches meetings (approximately 5 per year).

  • Hold athletes accountable to high academic and character standards.  

  • Communicate with the athletic director as needed.  

  • USATF Certification and prior cross country, track and field coaching experience preferred.

  • Availability on weekdays and weekends.
