A CRB education goes beyond our school building. It allows student to work in various offices all across New York City.
Benefits of CWS for our students:
Education
The summer before the start of their freshman year, all of our incoming students attend a 3-week Summer Training Program (STP). STP focuses on training student's soft and hard skills to get them ready for high school and the work-place. In addition to their commitment to the CWS program however, our student are also required to take college-prep courses. With honors, and advance placement (AP) courses available, our students are receiving a well-rounded education.
Experience
By the end of their 4th year, students have had the opportunity to work in different sectors, under different supervisors and build an arsenal of skills. This prepares them to be ready to face any scenario while in college, work and beyond. This experience also builds their confidence to advocate for themselves.
Exposure
In today's inter-connected world, experience is not enough to get you were you would like to be. Often times, knowing the right person or having the right reference, gets your foot on the doors. Throughout their high school years, our students are building relationships with supervisors at some of the top companies across NYC.
Students work 1 day per week, but employers have employees all week round.
The students' work day depend on their grade level. Having an entire grade level work the same day, allows the administration to accommodate the academic schedule to ensure students don't miss important instruction time.
When hiring a team (5 student employees), partners have an employee everyday. The team attends orientation and training together. Then, throughout the year they collaborate to ensure the work is complete.
When partners decide to hire multiple students but not a team, they choose what day they would like the student to work.
